Spacelabs Healthcare Reinvents Medical Telemetry; Launches AriaTele

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

Issaquah, Wash., –  Spacelabs Healthcare, which pioneered medical telemetry decades ago by monitoring the vital signs of orbiting astronauts, is again making history with the launch of AriaTele™, a new generation of feature-rich telemetry transmitters. Unlike traditional telemetry transmitters, the lightweight AriaTele offers a unique color screen to display heart rate/ rhythm, pulse rate and oxygen saturation level, providing immediate feedback to the caregiver on ECG & SpO2 signal quality.

“Spacelabs invented medical telemetry, was first to introduce telemetry to hospitals and first to offer telemetry for the WMTS,” said Nicholas Ong, President of Spacelabs Healthcare. “AriaTele has been built upon this expertise to continue our rich history of innovation.”

Today’s hospitals depend on telemetry for the continuous, remote monitoring of ambulatory patients’ physiological parameters. AriaTele’s display now offers caregivers the added confidence of knowing that they have the data they need while at the patient’s side, plus the convenience and time savings of not having to check with the central station.

AriaTele is the latest addition to Spacelabs’ Art of Monitoring portfolio that includes the qube™ and XPREZZON™ patient monitors, and ICS XPREZZ™ mobile app for iPad.
